PYUSD on Solana Launch

This one gets kind of jargony. sorrynotsorry.

After launching on Ethereum in august 2023, payments giants PayPal was ready to launch their flagship stablecoin PYUSD on Solana, the first integration outside the EVM ecosystem. This would also represent a stablecoin that had achieved regulatory approval from the New York State Department of Financial Services.

This comarketing campaign was a joint effort between three organizations: PayPal, Paxos (the issuer), and the Solana Foundation. I led the efforts on the Solana Foundation side, managing a working group of around 7 contributors over the course of both a 3-month pre-launch sprint and a post-launch summer.

As lead, I was orchestrator-in-chief β€” managing our team of contributors, our internal stakeholders, and communication between our comarketing partners. I ran scrum, wrote content, and jumped in when needed to unblock folks and make sure everything was moving along.

The launch was a massive success, performing well above our expectations and the metrics we had set ahead of time. We had more than 1.2 million views on our social content, 70+ press articles, 12,000 views on all written content, 4,900 views on our announcement blog.
